I'm Dr. Brian Polkinghorn, a Distinguished Professor of Conflict Analysis and Dispute Resolution with a long and fulfilling career dedicated to promoting peace and justice. I've had the honor of working alongside Mahatma Gandhi's grandson for over 20 years, collaborating on initiatives that foster positive change around the world.
My Story
My Humanitarian Work:
My work has been deeply influenced by Gandhian philosophy and the pursuit of nonviolent solutions to conflict. I've engaged in grassroots activism, empowering marginalized populations, and contributing to projects that promote peace and understanding. My efforts have been recognized through numerous awards and honors, including the prestigious Wilson Elkins Endowed Professorship, the USM Board of Regent's Faculty Award for Excellence in Public Service, and a Maryland Governor's Citation. I've also had the privilege of serving as a two-time Senior American Fulbright Scholar and a United States Fulbright Alumni Ambassador.

My Professional Journey:
My journey has been one of collaboration, learning, and service. I have worked with various organizations and communities, always seeking to promote understanding, empower individuals, and foster positive change. Currently, I serve as the Executive Director of the Bosserman Center for Conflict Resolution and Co-Director of the UNU-RCE Salisbury USA.
